About

Hi, I'm Emma...
Throughout my life, my eye has always been drawn to beautiful light and compositions out in the world. Eventually I picked up a camera, and what started out as a creative outlet to document the lives of my small children turned into a burning passion to work with families and individuals to create exquisite and timeless pieces of art to adorn their coffee tables and walls, and to provide a legacy of cherished memories.

We are so grateful to have connected with Emma Larkan. Emma made the experience of capturing our family joyful and stress free. She immediately put our little ones at ease and naturally brought out their personalities during the photoshoot. Emma is an incredible photographer and her images have a beautifully artistic perspective. Her photos of our family will truly be cherished forever.

Emma is a miracle worker. We used her for some family/maternity photos and couldn't be happier with how they turned out. She picked a gorgeous location, helped us pick our outfits, and did an excellent job shepherding us during the session. She got my shy almost-4-year-old to open up and get comfortable  with the camera, (no easy feat, let me tell you!). I am absolutely obsessed with the photos we got from the session and want to use them everywhere, I can't recommend her enough!

Kind words

Sipping chartreuse and green tea while looking at the most perfect white subway tile and hand painted signs. Driving through the mountains to Portland reminiscing about the best memories back home. Cozy sweaters, vintage demin, and Pabst while telling one of a kind love stories. The trials and tribulations of love, joy, and happiness. Lastly, champagne brunch and avocado toast while surrounded by the finest exposed brick, dreamcatchers, and maps to our souls. Dreamcatchers, macrame and 100 Days of Summer. Anthropologie trips and walks on the beach, love letters and secret admirers. Fall breeze, flannels, and hot cocoa. Whales and dinosaurs and handmade crafts. Salvage denim, antique leather bags, and the first time we watched Moonrise Kingdom.

The slow hum of traffic and the cool breeze that signify the joy of a new day.
